A millennium ago, mana—one of the many words to describe the “source of magic”—flowed aplenty across Daneva, unhindered and ferocious. But so potent was the presence of mana in the atmosphere that it eventually became unstable, causing the ground to shake in a series of devastating earthquakes; mountains began to spew fire in every direction, the seas raged against the skies and swallowed vast lands whole while deadly thunderstorms pierced the ground, creating deep craters. This great cataclysm is thought to be one of the prognosis that led to the formation of the continents we now see across Daneva.

A continent is a large continuous mass of land that is typically regarded as a collective region, and is ideally separated by a body or bodies of water. Continents in Daneva are largely determined on historical convention and cultural understanding rather than a strict scientific definition. Currently, there are six major continents in Daneva: Ulvataran, Edirisiran, Baretaran, Sevataran and Migdarran (listed from largest to smallest).
